Fall and Winter Garden Maintenance

Fall is a great time to wind down the growing season with preventive maintenance and to plan ahead for spring.

Ella Ancheta, Gamble's Garden Manager, will cover fall garden clean up, soil preparation, mulching, tool maintenance, and plant division. Looking ahead, Ancheta will show  how to assess our gardens with a professional eye – what looked good this year, what failed to thrive, where are the holes – and how to plan for spring. Sources for bulbs, seeds, and plants will be provided.

Some of the session will be outdoors, weather permitting.

Presenter: Ella Ancheta, has been the Garden Manager at Gamble for the past two years. She is a graduate of the Ornamental Horticulture program at Foothill College and is quite familiar with the soils and micro-climates of the Bay Area.
