Labor is an athletic event and prenatal yoga can be thought of as training. In our Tuesday evening class, Jeanna combines prenatal education with a strength-building practice. Poses and movement to support optimal fetal positioning and comfort during pregnancy and labor are highlighted. Discussion on prenatal topics during the practice is welcome and encouraged. Mindfulness mediation as a labor coping tool, use of Sanskrit language for poses, mild vinyasa, and practice to music is included in a typical class. This class is appropriate for all levels and most students will feel physically challenged.
