If you're redecorating and looking for a few abstract art pieces, then you're in luck.

Several Gunn High School plan to sell artwork to raise funds for teen members of Spotlight, a student-organized club at Gunn that aims to raise awareness of student depression. Through Spotlight, the students find outlets of self-expression and some create art, like that on display on Wednesday, May 22 at at 555 San Antonio Road in Mountain View.

"We hope our cause will lead teenagers away from the thought of committing suicide," said Zee Peng, one of the student leaders. This is why the paintings are "all anonymous to the society, because we want to protect [the students] at the same."

Peng and several others began to sell the artwork on Tuesday outside of the leasing office for the Carmel apartments at The Village at San Antonio Center.

They will return on Wednesday from 4 p.m. until about 7 p.m. and will bring 20 pieces of work. They sold four pieces on Tuesday. The artwork ranges in prices from $20 to $150.

According Peng, between 90 and 95 percent of the revenue will be returned to the students and between 5 and 10 percent will go to Spotlight for representing them.

"We will be selling high quality artwork that were made by high school students," Peng said. "Those students are very talented and passionate about art."

The Village allowed the students to display their art after a previous location fell through.
