Stanford University forward Chiney Ogwumike has been nominated for the 2014 Allstate WBCA Good Works Team.

Ogwumike’s community service accomplishments include:

  • Representing the Stanford women's basketball program at elementary schools and middle schools, meeting with students and talking to them about living a healthy, active lifestyle
  • Teaming up with Access to Success on a project to further its mission to help "underprivileged youth through athletic, educational and spiritual programs to reach their goals." To this end, Ogwumike went to work helping to raise a target amount of $30,000 to build a new basketball court for underprivileged youth in Nigeria

Ogwumike is one of 84 nominees. A final roster of 10 award recipients will be announced in February.

The Allstate WBCA Good Works Team is a collaborations between Allstate and the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) to recognize student-athletes who stand out for their charitable achievements and community involvement.
