33,000 Stanford Football Season Tickets Sold Out

The Cardinal football team will draw a lot of fans to the campus and City of Palo Alto.

For the first time ever, all season tickets for the Stanford football season have sold out, the Stanford University Athletic Department announced Monday.

The 33,000 season tickets sold also represent a sales record, according to the school.

Only a limited number of single game tickets go on sale Aug. 1 on GoStanford.com for games against including California, Notre Dame and Oregon More information will be provided on the afternoon of Wednesday, July 24.

The first subsections to sell out included the family and young alumni plans.

The "Red Zone," the Stanford student section accounted for another 5,000 sold out tickets, raising the total number of tickets already purchased to 38,000.

However, Stanford Stadium's 50,000 seat venue continues to fill up quickly.

Individual tickets plans can be purchased for one game per month from $159 to $199 depending on seat location, the school explained.

Stanford does hope to make single game tickets available and will send scannable PDF files to the mobile devices of fans.

As Pac-12 champions, the Cardinal will play seven home games this season with a season opener on Sept. 7 at 8 p.m. against the San Jose State Spartans.
