Heart of the Redwoods Photo Contest

Peninsula Open Space Trust (POST) invites amateur photographers to enter its Heart of the Redwoods photo contest in support of the fundraising campaign by the same name. The goal of POST’s Heart of the Redwoods Campaign is to protect 20,000 acres of the last remaining redwood forests in the Santa Cruz Mountains.

POST is looking for pictures that capture the power and majesty of redwood trees on a personal level. The hope is to inspire others and raise awareness about the benefits of and risk to the redwood forests that exist just a short drive from Silicon Valley.

There is no fee to enter the contest, and local businesses have donated prizes totaling nearly $600. The Grand Prize winner will receive entry to a workshop taught by Santa Cruz-based nature photographer Sebastian Kennerknecht. Other prizes include a $150 gift certificate from Keeble & Shuchat Photography in Palo Alto, a $100 gift certificate from University Art in Palo Alto, and a $50 gift certificate from San Jose Camera & Video in Campbell.
