Prenatal Yoga

Wednesdays, noon: Hillary
Physical Intensity Level: Medium
Community Level: Low-Medium
Birth Education Level: Medium-High
Styles: Vinyasa, Iyengar

Confidence is a key ingredient to feeling strong through pregnancy, labor, and birth. In her noon class on Wednesdays, Hillary aims to help students become more aware of all that is going on with their bodies, so that they may build confidence as labor approaches to make well-informed decisions regarding their maternity care. Her gentle, yet challenging class, influenced mainly by Iyengar and vinyasa, will help women feel more comfortable during pregnancy by teaching them ways to alleviate aches and open their bodies in preparation for birth. Every class will include prenatal/ early parenting education, strength-building, stretching, meditation, and Sanskrit terminology, with soft “yoga” music in the background. Community building is an essential part of the class, as well. Beginners will feel comfortable in this class while experienced yogis will enjoy the practical application of traditional yoga to the prenatal experience.
