GIRLS LACROSSE: Palo Alto Edges Gunn

Vikings slip by Titans behind hat tricks from two players.

The Palo Alto High girls lacrosse team earned its first win of the season Tuesday, edging nearby Gunn High  11-9 in a lively dual held at Palo Alto High.

Charlotte Biffar and Rachel Shaffer each scored three goals in the win. Gunn's Lauren King also netted a hat trick in the contest.

Paly improved to 1-2 overall on the young season, winning the league opener for both schools.

The Vikings will host St. Francis High-Mountain View on Thursday evening at 7 pm.

Gunn falls to 1-3-1 overall and 0-1 in league.
