Poor Sports: Seattle Seahawks Ticket Site Bans California Purchases

If 49ers fans want to buy tickets to Sunday's NFC Championship game in Seattle, they'll have to do it through a secondary market.

Are you poised at your computer this lovely Monday morning waiting for 10:00 a.m. to roll around so you can click "PURCHASE NOW" and get your tickets to Sunday's 49ers-Seahawks NFC Championship game?

Not so fast 49er fans. Seems that the mean old Seahawks have tweaked their official website to disallow purchases from anyone with a California address

According to a report on sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com, California residents can still purchase tickets through the secondary ticket market like NFL Ticket Exchange, Stub Hub and others, or through someone they know up in the hinterland of the Pacific Northwest.

A check of the the Seahawks ticket page indeed confirms this attempt at keeping the 49er faithful away: “Tickets will be available to fans with a billing address in WA, OR, MT, ID, AK, HI and the Canadian provinces of British Columbia and Alberta.”

“I’m sure they’re not concerned about the appearance, but it still looks kind of weak,” writes NinersNation.com.
