See the World Series Trophies on the Peninsula Today

Now's your chance to get a photo with the Giants World Series Trophies.

Are you a die-hard Giants fan? If so, plan a nice, long lunch break for today - the San Francisco Giants' 2010 and 2012 World Series Trophies will be in Redwood City.

As a city which features a Junior Giants youth baseball program, Redwood City was honored with a spot on this year's trophy tour, which is sponsored by Bank of America. Redwood City is one of the only cities on the Peninsula that will get a stop on the trophy tour, along with East Palo Alto and Daly City.

The two trophies will be on display Friday, Jan. 25 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Courthouse Square, 2200 Broadway in downtown.

"It was really important to us this time, given a second opportunity, to create a trophy tour which allowed us to connect with our fans, as well as the more than 20,000 kids who participate in our Junior Giants baseball program," said Larry Baer, Giants president and chief operating officer.

At each viewing event, fans will have the chance to have their photo taken with the trophies - created by Tiffany & Co. - and support their local Junior Giants Baseball League by optionally making a suggested $2 donation to the program.

If you can't make it today, you'll have to wait until March 13 to see the trophies in East Palo Alto. They will be on display at Costano Elementary School, 2695 Fordham St. Details, such as the time, are still being worked out.
