Free Behind-the-Scenes Tour of Stanford Stadium Today

If you've always wanted to go inside the locker room, now's your chance. The team will hold an open practice, give stadium tours, distribute posters and have a player autograph session.

The preseason college football rankings were released Saturday with Stanford at number 21 in the nation in the AP Top 25 Poll.

The season kicks off Aug. 31 with a home game against San Jose State. If you’re anxious to catch a glimpse of the team under the leadership of their new quarterback, Stanford is holding its annual Football Open House today. All events are free and open to the public.

Here’s a rundown of today’s events provided by the university:

10:00 a.m. - Noon
Open Practice at Dan Elliott Practice Field
Fans can check out the 2012 squad as they host an open practice.

12:30 p.m. & 1:30 p.m.
History of Stanford Stadium & Locker Room Tour
Go behind the scenes at Stanford Stadium with an insider's walking tour that includes history on Stanford Football and the Stadium, a tour of the tunnel, the concourse and an exclusive look at the team locker room. Two tours will be offered during the Open House, one departing at 12:30 p.m. and the other at 1:30 p.m. Tours last approximately 45 minutes and include walking up stairs and ramps. Sign up at the registration table outside the Stanford Stadium ticket office starting at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) on Sunday, August 19. Advance registration is not available. Sign up is on a first-come, first-served basis on the day of the Open House. Space is limited to 60 people per tour.

12:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Select Your Seat sales event at Stanford Stadium
New fans of Stanford Football will have an opportunity to try out available seats and purchase season tickets or mini plans before the season begins.

12:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Mini Fan Fest and Skill Stations at Stanford Stadium
Make it a day on the Farm and head over to Stanford Stadium after open practice. Concessions will be open offering grilled burgers, fries and stadium fare.

Show off your football skills or just have fun learning the game as Stanford Football coaches lead skill stations on the field of Stanford Stadium. Take your photo with the 2011 Orange Bowl Trophy, 2012 NFL first round draft pick Andrew Luck cutout, and learn more about the upcoming season and the Pac-12 Networks.

2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Meet members of the 2012 Cardinal squad for the fan autograph session*.
*2012 football posters will be distributed one per person
