Weekend Planner: Clay & Glass Festival and Stanford's Solar Car

Come celebrate the unveiling of the Stanford Solar Car Project's new solar car named Luminos, this Friday, July 12 at 5 p.m. in the Volkswagen Automotive Innovation Laboratory 473 Oak Rd., Stanford, CA. Free and open to the public.

Oklahoma tornado fundraising party
with performances by Beat Street and Shane Mac at Club Illusions, 260 S. California Ave. on Friday, July 12 from 7 p.m. until midnight. Appetizers include live sushi bar, libations, raffles for a $30 donation. All proceeds to benefit the American Red Cross' Oklahoma efforts.

Allison Miller's recent album Boom Tic Boom has been named one of the year’s top 10 jazz albums of 2010 by the Los Angeles Times and now you can listen to acclaimed drummer Allison Miller, this Friday, July 12 at 8 p.m. in Stanford's Campbell Recital Hall, 471 Lagunita Dr. Cost General Admission: $45; Student: $15.

Visit the 21st Palo Alto Clay & Glass Festival this Saturday, July 13th and 14th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the renovated Palo Alto Art Center located at 1313 Newell Rd. There you'll see the region's largest selection of the best traditional and contemporary clay and glass art, featuring 150 juried artists.

Enjoy some monologues performed by Gerald Hiken at Know Knew Books on Sunday, July 14th at 8 p.m, located at 415 S. California Ave.

The Palo Alto Police Department invites the community to meet two-year-old Eddie, their newest K-9, on Saturday, July 20, from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Heritage Park, 300 Homer Ave. He'll perform obedience drills. Event is free and open to the public.
