- Join Vice Mayor Nancy Shepherd, Councilwoman Gail Price and a VTA representative to welcome the Bay Area Bike Share program to Palo Alto on August 29 at 10 a.m. at the University Avenue and Emerson Street Bike Share Station, 171 University Avenue—the site of one the five docking stations in the city.
Friday, Aug. 30
- Most administrative offices will be closed due to the city's 9/80 work schedule.
- Catch the last few days and the closing talk and celebration from 6 to 9 p.m. of the Palo Alto Art Center's Summer Exhibition of Shenny Cruces's works.
- Libraries closed for Labor Day on both Sunday and Monday. It will reopen on Regular hours resume on Tuesday, September 3.
- Most administrative offices and facilities will be closed.
- TheatreWork's presents "Other Desert Cities" by Jon Robin Baitz, a play about a novelist whose memoir causes political rifts. Starts Wednesday, Aug. 21 until Sept. 15 at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts. Cost between $25 and $52.
