It seems a giant can of worms has been opened. You're welcome to toss tenure but please, do not getRead More rid of basic due process. I've worked for too many folks who think due process belongs somewhere else and NOT in the teaching profession.

It's about time! Being parents in Los Altos, a district considered one of the top in CA, we haveRead More seen utterly underperforming teachers cruising along just because they think they are "safe". Think about our children, please!

I don't agree with Los Altos resident. Most of the under performing students don't do their work andRead More disrupt the class for the other kids that do their work. Most parents don't want to be bothered making sure their kids do their home work and study for their tests. I have seen this time after time. This is just another attack on teachers and I wonder if this attack is only against elementary, middle school and high school teachers. Is the suit attacking college teachers? It should because there are just as many "bad' teachers in college as anywhere else.

how great it is to attend churches on the peninsula. now, if only these churches would address theRead More reality that it is really expensive to live in the bay area. religion without reality is not much at all. what great churches. just wish that you can afford to live around such nice churches

I think its wonderful that Mark Zuckenberg donated to our schools, but I predict it will never reachRead More our classrooms. The district will spend it on more "coaches" and specialists, more teacher training programs and technology. Meanwhile we will still have a high percentage of combo classes, jammed with 31 -32, English language learners, poverty, high needs students.

Hope the RCSD is watched like a hawk. Commenter Huff is absolutely correct in her assessment. HowRead More many "donated" Ping golf club SETS have disappeared from Kennedy Middle? What happened to the sewing machines from storage areas? RCSD needs to be absorbed into a larger district so the children get the full benefits from donors.

It states: "“Capo’s TAs and Budget all passed, mostly on 4-3 votes. So they are inRead More good shape, fiscally for, now. There was clearly tension among the Board members, but I didn’t have a chance to talk with Clark to find out what might be the cause. The majority members blocked comments by the minority members using parliamentary maneuvers. It wasn’t pretty.” Source: Internal e-mail from CUSD Fiscal Expert to Orange County Department of Education https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-Ln-e-F9vYh9nRLb6XyR09Fcif5xxm8_niCzXRLlDAI/edit

We have to make people aware that our State is run by public employee Unions and we need court casesRead More like today which ruled that the California Teacher Tenure rules are unconstitutional so that we can change laws and vote people out of office who do not represent the interests of the public who pay the taxes.
