The wonderous varieties of plants and animals in the garden, from rasberries and string beans to song birds and bumble bees, continue to attract hundreds of gardeners and many more visitors who wish to explore the link between humans, plants, animals and earth.

Spring and fall are wonderful times of year to visit, but there are always plants growing and animals who call the bushes and trees their home.

Rodin Sculpture Garden
Lomita Dr & Museum Way, Stanford, CA 94305

The Rodin Sculpture Garden was created as a dedication to B. Gerald Cantor, the primary donor of the Cantor ArtMore Center's Rodin Collection, which consists of 200 works of art by French sculptor Aguste Rodin (1840-1917). It is home to the largest Rodin collection outside of France. Most of the collection is indoors in the center galleries, but 20 bronze sculptures are outside for display including the well-known sculptures "The Gates of Hell" and "The Thinker." There is free admission to the museum and garden. The garden has lighting for nighttime viewing and parking is free after 4pm. 

This garden is part of the Cantor Arts Center, a fine-arts museum with a wide range of exhibitions of art history from around the world. The Cantor Arts Center provides free, docent-led tours of the garden and galleries. To schedule a free private group (10-40 people) tour of the Rodin collection or Stanford's outdoor sculptures call 650-723-3469. Please schedule six weeks in advance.

Upon entering Ladera Garden & Gifts, customers are greeted by the sight and scent of lilies, orchids and carnations.More This garden center, established 55 years ago, includes a nursery and a gift shop. During the Christmas season, Ladera Garden & Gifts hosts an open house to display new merchandise. The nursery is large and decorated with carved statues of saints. The owner, Juan, often attends gift shows to provide his customers with an enormous selection of trinkets, perfumes, lotions, picture frames, candles, tea sets, statuettes, wrapping paper, cloth and fabric, carpet and various other items. Products at the nursery include a wide selection of plant and flower food, fertilizer, bug killer, fungicide and other garden products. The variety of plants and flowers changes throughout the year, and the garden center's busiest times are November and early December, as well as the spring and summer seasons. Local delivery is provided.
