Carly Janiga, the 2010 NCAA uneven bars champion, is one of seven Stanford gymnasts to be named to the ScholasticMore All-America team by the National Association of Collegiate Coaches/Women. She earned her fourth Scholastic All-America honor to cap a career of excellence both in competition and in the classroom. Since 1990, Stanford has placed 47 gymnasts on the team, totaling 90 honors. Janiga is one of five in school history to earn the honor all four years.

On July 1, 2010, Tabitha Yim was hired by head coach Kristen Smyth as an assistant coach of Stanford's Women's Gymnastics team. Yim was a 14-time All-American at Stanford from 2005-08 --  earning the most All-American honors in school history.

Boasting a talented roster year after year, the Cardinal annually wreak havoc in the NCAAMore Tournament. Head coach Tara VanDerveer has built a powerhouse in Palo Alto. Her teams wow crowds with athleticism and physical dominance. The Cardinal finished the 2009-10 season with a loss to Connecticut in the NCAA championship game.

The Stanford team members sport red and white jerseys - the color of their mascot, the cardinal. Head Coach JohnnyMore Dawkins counts on new recruits and returning players to help drive the team to victory and earn national rankings. The team plays its home games at the Maples Pavilion, a 7,233-seat space that was renovated in 2005.

Tara Danielson who was a member of the U.S. Field Hockey National Team, and trained and competed at the Olympic levelMore from 1998-2006 was named head coach of Stanford's field hockey team on July 13, 2010.

The Stanford field hockey program has been honored with 12 SGI/NFHCA (National Field Hockey Coaches Association) National Academic Squad selections for 2010. This is the eighth consecutive season for which Stanford field hockey program has had at least ten honorees. To be recognized as an Academic Squad member a student-athlete has to achieve a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.30 through the first semester of the academic year.

Stanford University's tennis program is arguably the finest in the collegiate ranks. Coupled with unmatched teamMore records in recent years, individual successes have also flourished under the tutelage of head coaches Dick Gould and Frank Brennan. Scores of former Stanford players abound in the professional ranks, with many currently ranked among the world's top 100 players.

Since 1975, when Stanford's women's team joined an already successful men's program, no other school has claimed more NCAA team titles. Stanford has held a stranglehold on NCAA and national team trophies from 1973 to the present, capturing 14 men's and nine women's titles. Either of Stanford's tennis teams has won more collegiate titles by itself than all other men's and women's teams combined during that time period.
