Hanna House boasts a unique hexagonal geometry with no right angles anywhere in the floor plan. Hanna House served as an architectural exploration for the acclaimed architect, and Wright applied techniques from the house in his later works.
Wright designed the house for Stanford professor Paul Hanna and his wife. The Hannas gave the house to Stanford in 1975, after which four Stanford provosts lived there. Hanna House was damaged in the 1989 Loca Prieta earthquake and underwent extensive restoration, finally reopening to the public in 1999.

The cafe itself displays many works by Gallery House artists and the gallery allows visitors to stop by with their coffee from the cafe.
There are two rooms of works in the Gallery House, the first of which holds a feature show that changes every four weeks. There is a reception with food and wine for each exhibition the Friday of its opening week. The second room of the Gallery House contains works from all 40 members of the gallery.
Admission to the gallery is free. All the works in the gallery are for sale or rent and include paintings, prints, photographs, handmade cards and jewelry.
