The Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University (CASBS) is a national and…More international institution that allows fellows to devote a year to studying human behavior. Since 1954, CASBS has awarded fellowships to scholars working in a diverse range of disciplines. These include the five core social and behavioral disciplines of anthropology, economics, political science, psychology and sociology as well as scholars from a wide range of humanistic disciplines, education, linguistics and the biological sciences.
In 2008, Stanford University offered the Center a space on campus that has some of the most spectacular views of the entire Bay. Secluded high above all other buildings, Center fellows have the opportunity to pursue scholarly enterprise while located at Stanford University.
