Palo Alto High School is one of two high schools in the Palo Alto Unified School District and has a longstanding…More reputation for academic exellence. The influence of cultural and economic hubs surrounding Palo Alto-namely Stanford University, Silicon Valley and San Francisco-has in part led to the growth of a highly diverse and educated community that places a tremendous value on learning.
The 1,836 students who attend Palo Alto High, or 'Paly,' come from a wide range of ethnic backgrounds. A major distinguishing feature of Paly's academic program is its Teacher Advisor (T.A.) Program. The teacher advisors offer weekly counseling sessions to students seeking academic, personal or career advice.
In addition to core academics, Paly offers a wealth of Honors and AP courses, including Calculus, US Foreign Policy, Environmental Science, Music Theory and Classic Literature.
Paly's athletic program is robust with football, baseball, basketball, water polo, golf and lacrosse programs.
