Jan Masters, Neighbor

   Jan Masters was born in California and lived on both coasts of the United States as well as North Africa (Morocco) and Europe (Germany) before heading off to college.

  Masters has both a B.A. and an M.A. in Art History, and credits her travels at an early age for exposing her to art and architecture that inspired her interests.

   Her first career was in education—teaching college art history classes and writing two study guides before changing careers. Her second career was in high-tech marketing and communications (which often still included both writing and teaching).

   Now in her third career, Jan has shifted to teaching art history to older adults and writing about community news, as well as the arts and high tech. The biggest change in her third career is the emphasis she places on community service—more "food for the soul" instead of products.
