Thomas M. Pamilla, Neighbor
- Palo Alto, CA
It all started in Brooklyn, many years ago, where I was born. I am married and have two adult children, one (my son) in San Diego and the other (my daughter) in Portland, Oregon. I served for two years in the U.S. Peace Corps in the Dominican Republic back in the middle '70s.
I have a masters degree in Social Work from Fordham University, and a bachelor of arts degree in Philosophy from St. Bonaventure University. During most of my professional career I have immensely enjoyed working with, and learning from, older adults.
I came to California (Brooklyn accent and all) in 1986 and served as Executive Director of the Community Services Agency of Mountain View and Los Altos for 13 years. During a 7 year stay in San Diego, I was employed by the Alzheimer's Association of San Diego as their Director of Programs. In 2007 I returned to the Bay Area, and was fortunate enough to be chosen as the Executive Director of Stevenson House, an affordable, caring and beautiful housing community for low-income senior citizens.
